In December 2012, the School Entrepreneurship Trust successfully launched the inaugural School Entrepreneurship Conference. This was the first time an event of this nature had been implemented in South Africa.

The School Entrepreneurship Trust is pleased to announce that in December 2013 it will be running its second School Entrepreneurship Conference. Once again, 100 learners from high schools in impoverished communities will be afforded the opportunity to attend the four day conference.

The December 2013 conference will once again be hosted by the University Cape Town. The School Entrepreneurship Trust has formed a strategic partnership with the University of Cape Town which will see the December conferences being hosted exclusively by the University. In addition to the conference event, the Trust and UCT are in the process of creating a Provincial (and eventually National and International) school entrepreneurship initiative which they will be looking to launch in 2014/2015.

The December 2013 School Entrepreneurship Conference schedule consists of three training workshops, one innovation workshop, 8 guest speakers and a business idea pitch competition. This year’s conference is proudly supported by the Deloitte Foundation and the Technology Innovation Agency.
