The Technology edition of the Heavy Chef Report has landed. This 90 page magazine features content across the tech spectrum, from Virtual and Augmented Reality, to robotics and artificial intelligence. It also delves into tech entrepreneurship in Africa, with exclusive interviews with some of the continent’s most innovative forerunners.
On board what is Heavy Chef’s most comprehensive magazine yet, are authors like Dr Joanne Pransky – the world’s first robot psychiatrist and Tiffiniy Cheng – internet activist and a Mark Shuttleworth Foundation Fellow. Also in this edition, Fintech entrepreneur Sechaba Ngwenya, shared his thoughts on meeting the financial service needs of underserved African communities.
“This magazine is evolving at breath-taking speed along with the Heavy Chef brand itself which has become a ‘platform for doers.’ The Technology edition is the first of many publications that will interrogate areas that stretch the imagination and answer the questions that Africans are asking,” said Heavy Chef founder, Fred Roed about the new edition.
Magazine design team, Philip Wassung and Joe Vogel explored the concept of artificial intelligence in this publication, creating a 3D cover and visual page breaks based on ‘robotic blue prints.’ The magazine is available for viewing and download here.
What Is Heavy Chef All About?
Heavy Chef is a community-driven organisation. It was inspired by the expression ‘never trust a skinny chef’ and has evolved into a platform for ‘people that do.’ Doers are people who get their hands dirty and teach through action. They are the people we want to learn from and collaborate with. Our monthly events focus on leadership, technology and creativity, bringing together a community of like-minded individuals who want to make things happen.
