SA entrepreneur joins Global Tech leaders

Snapt CEO Dave Blakey recently joined the world's most exclusive group of young entrepreneurs as a member of the Young Entrepreneur Council (YEC), joining leaders from the likes of Dyn, HootSuite, Threadless and more.

A self-made, serial entrepreneur from Johannesburg, South Africa, Dave previously launched Opteq International, a global hardware networking company. He founded Snapt in 2012 and currently serves as the company’s CEO.

Under Dave’s leadership, Snapt achieved a 500% annual growth rate in 2015 and 2016. Snapt now provides load balancing and acceleration to more than 10,000 clients in 50 countries. High-profile clients include NASA, Intel, and various other forward-thinking technology companies.

Dave is a leading open-source software-defined networking thought leader, with deep domain expertise in high-performance (carrier grade) network systems, management and security solutions.

YEC community members, all aged under 40, need to have sustainable, high-growth businesses, and give back to the community through volunteering or donating. The YEC offers members exclusive opportunities to connect and interact with high-profile
entrepreneurs who are all making change and creating waves within their respective industries.

Blakey indicated he is looking forward to the opportunities in store, and hopes to bring his knowledge and industry expertise to the YEC.

“I’m honored to have been approached by the YEC, and look forward to connecting with like-minded businesses and founders,” said Dave.
